(Last year, they had a similar sale, BUT I noticed that while many items were discounted before Christmas, they were suspiciously regular price – and therefore, no further 25% off – after Christmas. I guess that would be too much of a good thing. Still, GAP has had horrendous Q2 and Q3 profit, so look for them to try to pull something out of their hat.)
Oh wow, this almost makes up for missing out on the 40% off one item coupons! After all, why save 40% on one item – when you can save 30% on your entire purchase!

For some reason, Vancouver stores are excluded from this sale – perhaps it’s not that cold in BC? Or maybe they’re having their own super-excellent sale. Regardless, I hate exemptions… so uncool.

Most of the pieces straddle my spending comfort zone, while some are just ridiculously out of the ballpark. See that stylish band jacket in the upper left corner? “Only” $128.00 USD. I don’t know about you, but I can’t fathom spending that much money on something my son will outgrow so quickly. Still, if I had the money and the desire, that would be one sweet piece!
As predicted, the girl’s offerings are much more “haute” and trendy – and so irresistible, I’m almost glad that I don’t have to make that choice! Surely my husband would notice $368.00 spent at babyGap on our Visa.

Is it me, or does it seem like Gap runs a promo every week? I remember the days when Gap was considered somewhat street-posh, and I would wait for Boxing day to be able to afford their jeans or sweaters. And now, thanks to a multitude of sales, I actually pass on Gap promos more than I take advantage of them! Of course, as a mommy, I’m not complaining – Ryder is almost always dressed in head-to-toe babyGap – for less than the price of “George” at Walmart. Who knew?

When Gap wants to clear out stock, those clever buggers sure know how to do it!
1. Reduce sale merchandise by a respectable percentage (say, 25%) and hope that customers don’t realize that Gap sale merchandise is actually reduced by a further 40% at least once every month or so.
2. Send out an official e-mail invitation so it appears to be an exclusive deal; even though the promotion will be advertised throughout the store and available to just about everyone who enters.
3. Void all other promotions, such as the Visaperks.ca coupon, e-mail signup coupon, customer survey coupon, etc., keeping the savings at just 25% off merchandise they want off their shelves anyways.
Ah, Gap, you truly are a Jedi Master of marketing! All hail Gap. Valid just today and tomorrow (September 14th and 15th), take 25% off sale merchandise with the coupon below.

You know Fall is approaching when you break out your corduroy pants. Don’t own a pair? Don’t fret! From September 10th to 16th, Men’s Authentic Fit and Women’s Real Straight cords are $15 off at Gap. Not to be outdone, all babyGap and GapKids cords are $10 off. It’s a chance to deck your whole family out in these formerly geeky threads!
Women’s Real Straight cords come in HOT colours such as flame, gelded gold, and bright peony pink, in addition to the more conservative standbys like grey, white, navy and fawn. (A word to the wise: white cords are never a good idea. Never. Toronto is just too dirty to keep them clean.)
The Men’s Authentic Fit cords come in safe, tried and true colours (rightfully so). Not sure about how “authentic” the fit is, but my husband is always a willing model :)
