From Drab to Fab in Minutes with Club House!

We’ve all been there before.

The fridge is near-empty (really should have done that grocery run).
The freezer is full of food you don’t have time to thaw (here’s where planning ahead comes in handy).
And… it’s dinnertime. (D’oh.)

Normally, I’d be reaching for a dial-a-dinner takeout menu in a flash, but last night, I decided it was time to get creative. On hand: an onion, a red pepper, garlic, frozen mini Italian sausages, and the cure for drab dinners: Club House Flavourful Recipe Mixes. The little flavour packets contain a medley of complementary dried herbs and spices, with no trans fat, artificial colours or flavours and no added MSG. They’re all you need to throw together a quick meal with maximum flavour! For tonight’s occasion? I thought the Lemon Thyme Pork Flavourful Recipe Mix would highlight the flavour of the mini sausages perfectly.

Here’s what I did: I sautéed the onion, red pepper and garlic in a little olive oil until just softened. Then, I threw in the frozen mini sausages – they were fully cooked, so just needed reheating. Finally, just as the sausages started to warm through, I added about two teaspoonfuls of the Club House Flavourful Recipe Mix. The citrus notes gave just the right amount of bright, savoury flavour, and the rest of the herbs cooked down with the onions and peppers to create an Italian-inspired saucy mixture.

They did exactly as promised – taking my otherwise bland mix of leftovers and making them flavourful! It was like Sausage and Peppers 2.0!

Now what happens if you need a little more inspiration? Well, the Flavourful Recipe Mixes have recipes right on the packet, so you’ll never need to overthink dinner. Plus, visit www.clubhouse.ca for even more ideas – for my particular herb mix, you can try recipes for:

I love that they’ve taken the guesswork out of so many great flavour combinations. Club House Flavourful Recipe Mixes are also available in Creamy Parmesan Chicken Penne, Herbes de Provence Roasted Chicken, Tuscan Chicken, Hickory BBQ Ribs and Lemon Ginger Beef Stir-fry (we can’t wait to try them all).

And now, off to plan my next meal-in-a-flash! Thanks Club House!

I am participating in the Club House Flavourful Recipe Mixes Blog Tour by Mom Central Canada on behalf of McCormick. I received compensation as a thank you for participating. The opinions on this blog are my own.
