Artscow: $9.99 Photo Book

Haven’t heard of Artscow? That’s okay, neither did I – until I received an e-mail from them this morning. They’re an online retailer based in Hong Kong… who offer FREE international shipping, and glorious prices on many photo gifts! And, a quick Google search confirmed that they are very well respected and have high customer satisfaction… why not give them a try?

For a limited time, you can grab an 8×8 Photo Book (30 pages) for just $9.99 USD – shipped to your door at no cost. Now that’s a dealio!

Simply enter coupon code 30PBKSALE at checkout, valid until April 10, 2010. Here’s a bit of info about the photo books:

Create a unique photo book with all your favourite photos, which is a great way to retain your memories. You can now create and purchase your own real photo books at reasonable and honest price.

Our photo books are stitch bound (not glue bound), allowing you to flip pages and spread the book out flat without having the binding crack.

8″ x 8″ Hard Bound Custom Cover.
First 30 pages included.
Additional page $0.50/each.
157gsm premium paper.
100% acid free paper.
Double-sided printing.
Easy drag and drop images, themes, backgrounds, and control text placement.
Customized with your own title, photos and add text to the spine.
Including lots of layouts, backgrounds and themes for you to choose.

Now, since it’s being shipped from Hong Kong, please don’t expect it to arrive before 3-4 weeks. But, at that price, and with hundreds of positive reviews, I may just check it out. (I can’t see that duty fees would be crazy either – most of the time, Canada Post ignores duty on values under $20).

Click here to purchase a photo book from Artscow.

p.s. Prefer a different photo gift? Grab 30% off all personalized photo gifts (excluding prints) with coupon code DISCOUNT30P. Expires on March 31st, 2010.

My First Blog Award!

I’m a terrible at blog networking. I don’t belong to any blogger sites, rarely leave comments on even my favourite daily stops (though I am religious about reading every post on my dashboard), and definitely don’t participate in all the “for extra entries follow me, subscribe, sign over your first born, etc etc” efforts for increasing blog traffic. As my Mommy Brain friend Jen so eloquently put it, “I’m going to blogger hell.”

So I was just floored to learn that I had received a blog award from The Daily Mom Diaries! Tracyo, the awesomely talented East Coaster behind the website, recommended Listen to Lena! as one of her go-to sites! I’m honoured!

Now there are rules about giving the award out to others, but if you paid attention to my first paragraph, you can safely assume that I won’t be following protocol. Instead, here’s a list of my daily reads – these wonderful moms, fashionistas, beauty experts and/or product junkies brighten my day!

La Senza: $10 off Select Bras

Attention Ladies: The weather is getting warmer. You’ll soon start wearing less clothes. And that means people may catch a glimpse of that wobbly, fraying-strapped bra that you’ve been hiding under sweaters all winter. Time to upgrade!

There’s a Bra-mazing event happening at LaSenza.com right now – take $10 off a huge selection of bras! I counted 44 different styles that were on promotion, so you’ll probably find your favourite in the bunch. If you know your size, you’re good to go – and even if you’re unsure, returns and exchanges are a breeze at any La Senza location in Canada (except for intimates, of course).

Shipping is FREE on orders over $89, otherwise, it’s a $9 flat rate (which effectively eats into your $10 off, so don’t even think about it).

Oh My WOWness! I HEART BRITAX…

There are some days when you roll out of bed, and feel more blessed than others. Yesterday proved to be such a day for me.

During the early hours of afternoon, while Ryder was napping and I was brooding over the lack of sunshine, the doorbell rang. Now, unless I’m expecting someone, I normally don’t like to answer the door while I’m home alone with the baby… but I could see the familiar brown UPS truck idling by my driveway.

As I opened the door, Jerry (who I’m pretty much buddies with thanks to my online shopping habit) smiled at me and said, “I’ve got a couple of big boxes for you today.”

I was instantly on guard. What the heck did I order? Now at just under 8 months preggo, I’ve been battling insomnia for the last week – but surely I didn’t order a two-piece leather sectional in the wee hours of morning?

He jumped into his truck and proceeded to unload the first box – and I instantly recognized the beloved Britax logo. For moi? Things only got better when a matching logo made it’s way to my doorstep next.

It turns out, when the good folks at Britax found out I was having another baby, they decided to graciously send me the Chaperone travel system to enjoy! The travel system includes the Britax Chaperone Infant Car Seat, and well as the Britax Chaperone Full Sized Stroller! Woot! Woot!

I cannot wait to test and review these items for my readers! It’s so secret that I LOVE Britax (seen by the fact that I blog just about every Britax car seat sale that I come across), and I am so humbled that the company is interested in my opinion of the products. Yes, yes, yes!

And speaking of sales, you can find awesome deals on a variety of Britax products at the moment, including the Chaperone Travel System ~

For readers in the US, check out Diapers.com, where the travel system is just $379.99 (save $150)! That’s the best deal I’ve ever seen on the complete travel system!

For my Canadian peeps, the Chaperone Stroller is $50 off at Babies R Us during their Baby Fest (ends Thursday), down to just $299.97 from $349.99. The Chaperone Infant Car Seats are also on promotion – $40 off, down to just $229.97 from $269.99.

If you’ve got a toddler on your hands, you can also grab the Boulevard Convertible Car Seat for just $299.97, down from $329.99.

Look for my review of the car seat and stroller in early to mid June, after I’ve had a chance to put them to the test with Ryder’s baby brother. And please don’t hate – you know I love sharing with my readers! Hmm… I foresee a “Lena Loves… Britax” feature on the way… that’s all I’m disclosing for now, but trust me – you won’t want to miss it!

Results: Would You Buy a Refurbished Item?

Thanks to everyone who participated in my quick poll about buying refurbished items. From time to time, I come across deals for refurb product, and wanted to know if ya’ll were interested in seeing what manufacturers had to offer.

The results are in!

Out of the 85 voters, 55 (64%) were open to buying refurbished items, depending on the reputation of the manufacturer (I DON’T recommend buying refurbished products, from oh, let’s say Dollarama). That’s a whopping percentage of people who are willing to give re-manufactured products a try in exchange for huge savings. Ya’ll sound like smart consumers to me!

19 voters (22%) prefer to only purchase products your hands have touched – and who can blame you? There’s a reason why fragrance companies try to duplicate the “new car smell!”

Finally, 11 voters (12%) are all about the deals, and will often buy refurbished products at a discounted price. As almost all refurbished products carry decent warranties and are guaranteed to work like new, you guys are awesome! Enjoy your products – and the extra cash in your pocket :)

I found an amazing article entitled “Buying Refurbished Products – What You Need To Know” from About.com. Give it a read! It breaks down what constitutes a refurbished item, and provides tips when buying them. Nice!

Costco: $5 off Kirkland Signature Diapers

Though I’m a Pampers kinda gal myself, a lot of readers have expressed their delight and satisfaction with Kirkland Signature Diapers from Costco. Comfortable, leak-resistant, and most of all, affordable, these diapers are a fave with the Big Box crowd.

So I’m pretty pleased to let ya’ll know that from April 1st thru 7th, you can take $5 off all sizes of Kirkland Signature diapers with this coupon. The fine print states that only one coupon is allowed per household, and since Costco can basically track everything except your blood type with their membership, I have a feeling there’ll be no way to score more even if you wanted to. Still, a great deal for Kirkland enthusiasts, and for the rest of us, perhaps motivation to try them out for the first time.

Coach Factory Store: Additional 20 or 30% off

I love when I see a new trend in the making – the Coach Factory store is once again offering a super hot BONUS dealio!

With this coupon, you can save an additional 30% on purchases over $250! Grab your Coachy Comrade and combine your purchases to reap the savings. Of course, the standard extra 20% still applies to purchases under $250. The coupon is valid until Sunday, March 28th, so be sure to do some damage!
