Yesterday officially marked the very first time hubby and I barbecued as a family! And, the self proclaimed Master of the Flame didn’t disappoint, serving up scrumptious burgers and Oktoberfest sausages. Magnifique my love!

As we were chowing down, I found myself wishing I had a bag of coleslaw mix on hand, so that I could quickly toss together a sweet and tangy slaw. Alas, we were cabbageless, and I had to settle for simply adding it to the grocery list.

If you find yourself in a similar situation and are lucky enough to have a bag on hand, you must try this Quick Creamy Coleslaw! It tastes almost exactly like the kind you find at fried chicken or fish n’ chips stops, and goes great with any kind of BBQ! Enjoy!

1 (16 ounce) bag coleslaw mix
2 tablespoons diced onion
2/3 cup Miracle Whip
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/3 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds

Combine the coleslaw mix and onion in a large bowl.

Whisk together Miracle Whip, vegetable oil, sugar, vinegar, salt, and poppy seeds in a medium bowl; blend thoroughly. Pour dressing over coleslaw mix and toss to coat. Chill at least 2 hours before serving. Serves 8.
