Get Your Olay Stocking Stuffers This Week! (Expired)

Remember this post?

“If you like Olay products, here’s an idea for or insanely cheap stocking stuffers for those beautiful ladies on your list.
First things first, order your coupon for “Buy 3, Save $10.00” on Olay products here. When your coupon arrives, take it to your favourite store and redeem for awesome products!”

If you heeded my words and ordered the coupon, you’re in luck! This week (November 29th – December 5th) Shoppers Drug Mart has various Olay Body Washes on sale for $3.99 each. When you buy 3, and use the above-mentioned coupon, you can get them all for a total of just $1.97 plus tax ($3.99 x 3 = $11.97 – $10.00 off). As I always like to compare, Walmart retails the body wash for $6.77 each.

If you haven’t ordered your coupon, and stumble upon this post, order today! You’ll probably receive it before the sale is over, and definitely in time for another pre-Christmas deal.

Beautiful skin for all the ladies on my list! (Well, technically, the ladies on my list will be grabbing this deal themselves. Beautiful skin x 3 for me!!!)

Mmmm…. Chocolate

You know what? I was never a huge chocoholic until my late 20′s. My love affair with cocoa began around the same time we started getting fewer kids for Halloween. The neighbourhood was growing up, and fortunately for me, I had an endless supply of leftover Reese’s PB Cups, Mini Twix and Fun Size Coffee Crisp to help me develop a new found craving.

That insatiable urge for chocolate continued through the years and I am now a full-fledged junkie. Of course, there are levels of chocolate goodness; at the bottom rung you will find the waxy, imitation-chocolate Easter bunnies, bested by variety store selections (Hershey’s and Nestle), and outdone by the likes of Lindt and Laura Secord. At the top of the chocolate ladder… the holy grail of chocolate, if you please… is anything created by Swiss Master Chocolatier.

But you aren’t likely to find a coupon for them anytime soon, so let’s settle for someone more accessible, shall we? Until December 24th, the following coupon from Laura Secord can help with all those choco-good stocking stuffers! Mmmm….. choco-good.

Going-Out-of-Business Sales Not Such a Bargain: Article from ABC News

Here’s a VERY interesting article from ABC News: Going Out of Business Sales Not Such a Bargain. They conducted an investigation which proved that many of the retailers who have an “Everything Must Go!” sale actually raise the prices in order to make the deals look sweeter. At the top of their list? Linens ‘n Things!

Take a moment to read the article. You may have already guessed that retailers have been doing this for years. I suppose the message to take away from this: Be a saavy shopper. Know your prices and the general worth of the goods you will be buying. Price compare as much as possible, and know when you’re getting a deal, and when you’re not!

50 FREE Prints from Photolab!

Thanks to Jen for the heads up on this fantabulous freebie!

Looks like photolab.ca has decided to jump on Walmart’s ever-growing bandwagon… when you sign up here, Photolab will credit 50 FREE prints to your account! The fine print:

You should receive an e-mail shortly after signing up for a new account. You need to click on the link in the e-mail to redeem your 50 free prints.

Photolabs can be found in virtually all Loblaws and Superstore locations. Most offer same-day service, and the print quality is excellent, as expected. A Lena-Approved Bonus: it’s much easier to find parking at Loblaws than Walmart!

With all these free prints, looks like I’ll be taking LOTS of pictures this season! Release the shutterbugs!

Banana Republic: 40% off Select Holiday Styles thru December 1st (Expired)

Now through December 1st, Banana Republic has 40% off select holiday styles. I am a huge fan of this sale for the following reasons:

1) BR’s holiday outfits for the ladies are TO DIE FOR. Simple to snazzy, you’ll surely find an outfit for all your holiday events. View some styles from their collection here.

2) For that special guy on your list, BR has toooo many clothes for dudes spelled S-E-X-Y. And with 40% off, you can guess what will be waiting for hubby under the tree :) View samples from the men’s collection here.

3) They have a generous return policy, and I actually find the salespeople to be refreshingly helpful and competent (gasp!) ~ who would expect that from a Gap Inc. store?

I’ll check out the deals and selection later this week, and perhaps I can nudge Lotus to share her fashion finds with you!

What are you waiting for???

If you haven’t yet created a new account for Walmart’s Photo Centre online, what are you waiting for?

View original post here.

Last night I decided to print off a bunch of pictures that had been hanging around the memory card for too long. I uploaded 44 pictures (4×6), placed them in my cart, and voila! A message from Walmart asked me very politely – Would you like to use your 50 free pictures towards this order? And I very politely ticked off “YES!” The balance due upon pick-up (less than an hour at any Walmart): $0.00.

So I got thinking…. hmmm…. I have 4 e-mail addresses between hubby and I. You guessed it! I shamelessly signed up new accounts with the other addresses as well. But HEY! I read the fine print. It definitely does not say one offer per person ~ it’s valid one offer per e-mail address. So now I have 200 free pictures waiting for me… what are you waiting for???

Christmas photos. Vacation shots. Pictures of your baby after he’s dipped his foot in peach puree and is now licking his toes (or, you know, any other pictures). All free for you! And in case you’re wondering, the quality of Walmart’s photo processing is indeed excellent.

Remember to consult the original post for instructions on how to confirm that the free photos are credited to your account. This is a limited time offer (though once downloaded, the credits are there until you use them), so be quick!

PC Thai Sweet & Spicy Chicken Wings

To those who know, President’s Choice is absolutely my favourite brand of everything. For some reason, they just keep getting it right. And while they started out as a discount no-name company (with, um, a name), they’ve blossomed into every market imaginable, making more and more goodies for me to love. But my all time favourite must-have-love-them-on-a-tuesday- night-with-superfries-and-a-coke PC product has to be their Thai Sweet & Spicy Chicken Wings.

We discovered these sticky bundles of goodness when they first appeared sometime last year. Hubby was on a mission to find a good frozen wing; I was on a mission to have him find one so he’d stop talking about it. Into the grocery cart the “New!” wings go, and my life, as I know it, has forever changed.

These wings are SERIOUSLY YUMMY. Don’t even think about following the microwave directions ~ the little flappers need to bake in the oven for the recommended time, and then for another 5 minutes to get them all carmelized and crispy.

And the flavour! The wings have just the right amount of heat with a sweet finish to balance it out. While steam won’t blow out of your ears, you may find yourself dousing the fire intermittently. But the thing about spicy food is that it creates a love-hate relationship between your mouth and your senses – your mouth (which is likely burning like hell) is telling you to stop, but everything in you just wants to feel that slow burn for a little while longer. Hence the reason I usually eat more wings than I should…

Now that I’ve whetted your appetite, I should let you know that this product is insanely popular and often sold out at grocery stores carrying PC products (Loblaws, Superstore, No Frills). So if you do stumble upon them, trust me on this one – BUY 2!!!

2009 Milk Calendar (Expired)

I totally should have saved this post for Friday, but I am so excited I just couldn’t wait to Blog about it (and perhaps I’ll post a reminder later this week).

In this Saturday, November 15th’s Toronto Star, you can get your very own 2009 Milk Calendar! With the abundance of free calendars floating around, you’re thinking, “What’s so special about the Milk calendar?”

Well, for starters, the recipes are AMAZING. Everything from simple dinners to delectable desserts – cooking with milk products couldn’t be easier or more yummy. Second, all the recipes are nutritionally balanced to incorporate Health Canada’s recommendations for smart living. Third, there’s a variety of cuisines represented – everything from Indian (Coconut Curry Beef Noodles) to Italian (Fettucine with Tuna and Fresh Tomatoes) to Thai (Thai Pork Stir Fry).

And lastly, I am a huge fan of having food-related calendars in the kitchen. They can motivate you on a “What’s for dinner?” night, or on a Sunday afternoon where you’re itching for an oven-baked treat. I simply don’t see how 12 months of dogs or Zac Efron will inspire the chef in you, but hey, to each their own.

If you’re not planning on grabbing the calendar but would like to try the recipes just the same, you can find the 2009 Milk Calendar recipes here.

Certainly not nearly as fun as hanging up the yummy pictures, but just as delicious, I suppose!
